Telehealth is a form of telecare that is designed to complement health care through the remote monitoring of vital signs in the patient's own home. Diagnosis, assessment and management of a patient's conditions can be supported by monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, weight, glucose levels or pulse, without requiring the patient to leave their front room.
Remote health monitoring is an ideal way to lessen the burden on health care provision whilst empowering the patient with greater independence, assurance and control. We are working in partnership with Whzan to offer an easy to use, cost effective and portable solution to telehealth.
Using an‘off the shelf' Google Android based tablet PC or mobile phone for its user interface, the instruments used for monitoring are connected to this computer platform via Bluetooth (wireless) and readings are securely transferred onto to the secure data platform for review and distribution. The data collected is presented via the medical system that can be deployed in secured environments.
Whzan is a budget-friendly telehealth option for commissioners and clinicans. Patients like the security offered by a telehealth service with the freedom provided by the portability of Whzan.
