Looking at recommendations aimed at Government and local authority officials about how telecare services and user outcomes can be improved.
It is targeted at policy-makers, local authority councillors with an interest in adult social care, local authority directors of adult social services, and health and wellbeing board members. Its purpose is to encourage decision-makers to understand the current provision of telecare services in England and how services can be improved for the future.
The report and the analysis it contains was compiled following a number of requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 sent to all upper-tier and unitary local authorities in England. The audit was responded to by 121 out of 152 councils (80%) in England. All analyses in this paper are based on the responses of those local authorities that responded in full to the FOI requests.
