The Care Assist pager is a portable device that provides carers with a means to receive instant alerts from a range of telecare sensors.
With a typical range of up to 200m, it is particularly suited to specialist dementia care, intermediate care, learning disability, residential and care home, and respite care facilities. It can provide significant benefits to private individuals and their informal carers who may prefer not to be connected to a 24 hour monitoring centre service.
How does it work?
The Care Assist pager can receive alerts from various telecare sensors so that the carer can check and respond to the cared-for person. When the telecare sensor is activated, the Care Assist will vibrate, beep and display clear information on its bright screen to alert the carer to the incident allowing them to take speedy and appropriate action.
Why is it needed?
The Care Assist pager allows onsite carers to be made quickly aware of any incidents allowing them to provide a high level of care whilst maximising their efficiency. It will also help to reduce the impact on informal carers’ lifestyles enabling them to lead more independent lives.
What is telecare?
Telecare helps to manage risk and support independence by means of unobtrusive wireless sensors placed around the home which detect possible problems such as smoke, gas, flood or a person falling.
